Spot XRP exchange-traded funds have recorded nine straight days of net inflows, with the largest single-day inflow for August reaching $28.14 million. The total inflows during this streak amount to $153.54 million, bringing the month's cumulative total to $157 million. This represents XRP ETFs' third best month since launch.
The inflows are distributed across multiple providers. In the past 24 hours alone, XRP ETFs recorded $26.20 million in net inflows, with Bitwise leading at $11.17 million, followed by Canary with $3.71 million, Franklin with $2.17 million, and 21Shares with $1.95 million.
Collectively, XRP ETF net inflows account for 1.63% of the altcoin's circulating supply. XRP itself has declined over 8.50% in the past week and is currently trading around $1.38.
Whale Positioning Remains Divided
Despite the ETF inflows, major traders on decentralized exchanges show conflicting positioning. Some whales are holding long positions with significant unrealized profits. One whale holds 35 million XRP purchased with 10x leverage, valued at $48.46 million, with over 18% in unrealized gains. Other long orders in major positions use 20x leverage and are valued at $12.41 million and $9.27 million respectively.
Conversely, short positions are also substantial. A major whale has shorted 11.06 million XRP valued at $15 million using 5x leverage. Analysis of the top 30 orders on the Hyperliquid DEX shows that most orders are short positions, with most showing profits unless entry prices were below $1.38.
Technical Levels and Momentum
XRP is trading above a slanting trendline with a moving average cross between the 20-day and 50-day averages. The price has fallen from a recent peak of $1.70 to $1.38. Transaction volume averages 814.35 million XRP, significantly below this year's peak of 3.752 billion XRP. Technical indicators show declining momentum, with weakening Bull Bear Power bars suggesting reduced buying pressure.
For sustained upside momentum, bulls would need to maintain the price above the moving average cross at $1.10.
