XRP has been consolidating around $1.40 as analysts examine technical formations that could determine the token's next direction. Two major events scheduled for the coming week may prove pivotal for the asset's trajectory.
Technical Targets and Resistance Levels
Several analysts have highlighted bullish technical structures in XRP's price action. One analyst identified multiple formations pointing toward a target around $2.30, representing a potential 60% increase from the current price of approximately $1.39.
However, XRP faces significant resistance obstacles. Liquidity analysis identifies a substantial concentration between $1.60 and $1.85, followed by even heavier liquidity at $2.00. One analyst estimated a 70% probability of XRP moving higher through the $1.50 and $1.60 levels before reaching the $2.00 region. A bearish scenario could unfold if XRP loses $1.30, potentially opening the door to declines toward $1.20 or $1.00.
A separate technical analysis using Fibonacci retracement levels suggests the asset could reach above $2.10 based on the current expansion pattern. Analysts acknowledged that liquidity maps change constantly and do not guarantee directional moves.
Senate Vote and Federal Reserve Decision
The next eight days present an unusually concentrated event window for XRP. On September 15, the US Senate is scheduled to hold a procedural cloture vote on the motion to proceed with the CLARITY Act at 2:15 PM ET. While this is not a vote to pass the legislation, a successful vote would advance the bill toward formal Senate consideration.
One day later, the Federal Reserve will announce its latest interest-rate decision. The combination of these two events creates competing pressures: regulatory progress could improve sentiment around XRP, while a hawkish Fed decision—such as a rate hike—could simultaneously pressure the token and the broader cryptocurrency market.
