A crypto analyst has projected that XRP could eventually reach $60, contingent on the token first clearing a significant price barrier at $3.66. Analyst Ali Martinez bases this forecast on the idea that a monthly close above $3.66 would signal an end to XRP's prolonged struggle to sustain gains beyond previous highs.
Reaching $3.66 would require XRP to rise nearly 170% from its price of around $1.35 as of September 10. The $60 target would represent a roughly 4,000% increase from current levels.
David Schwartz, Ripple's chief technology officer, separately stated that XRP could eventually overtake Bitcoin in total market value. In an X Spaces discussion, Schwartz noted that such an outcome would require XRP to grow faster than Bitcoin, not Bitcoin to decline in value. He cited the speed and wider range of functions offered by XRP Ledger as potential drivers of faster growth, though he did not provide a price target or timeline.
Immediate Price Pressures
XRP faces more pressing technical challenges in the near term. The token fell 3.24% to approximately $1.35 during recent trading, breaking below the $1.40 level where buyers and sellers have competed for control. If this support fails, $1.30 represents the next potential floor.
Any recovery would need to push XRP above $1.40 first. Further resistance exists between $1.45 and $1.50, an area that has repeatedly halted recent advances.
Broader market conditions are also weighing on XRP. The token is trading cautiously ahead of fresh US inflation data, which could influence interest rate expectations and cryptocurrency demand.
