XRP concluded September with gains of just under 10%, closing above $1.50 and extending a winning streak that began in July. The performance was bolstered by significant inflows into spot ETFs tracking the token, which added over $120 million in September alone and reached cumulative net inflows of nearly $1.8 billion, marking an all-time high.
August had been particularly strong for XRP, with the token gaining 30% over the month despite dipping below $1.00 mid-month. September maintained this momentum, though the asset attempted multiple times to break through $1.60 resistance without success. Only three days in the month—September 2, 17, and 18—closed slightly in the red, while ETF funds recorded no red weeks since early July.
October's Uncertain Path
October carries particular significance in cryptocurrency markets, earning the nickname "Uptober" due to historical gains. For XRP specifically, however, the month presents a mixed record. Of the past 13 Octobers, only five have closed in the green for the token. The most recent positive October was in 2023, when XRP gained 16.5%.
Recent October performances have been challenging. XRP declined 16.7% in October 2024 and experienced substantial losses in October 2023 alongside broader market corrections. These contrasting patterns leave XRP at a crossroads as it enters the month, balancing its current three-month rally against a historically uneven October track record.
