XRP, the cross-border token associated with Ripple, has received a dedicated account on X, the social media platform widely used in the crypto industry. The account's arrival was marked by celebratory posts and comments, including from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
Garlinghouse welcomed the new account in a post, saying, "This one has been a long time coming… Welcome @XRP!" The account's first and only post as of press time reads "hello, world," a phrase with a long history in programming.
Early traction and industry response
Within hours of its first post, the account had already amassed more than 47,000 followers. The post also drew comments from major crypto industry accounts, including Gemini, Uphold, Moonpay, and Flare, as well as prominent members of the XRP community such as EGRAG CRYPTO and the XRP Ledger account.
The launch of the XRP-dedicated account follows what the source described as a highly successful week for Ripple, during which the company announced several major partnerships and expanded its reach on Wall Street.
Token price remains under pressure
The attention around the new account comes as XRP itself has struggled to stage a notable recovery. According to the source, XRP was rejected at $1.40 last week and fell to $1.25 days later, where it found support.
Popular analyst Ali Martinez, who also commented on the new account's post, believes XRP's rebound from that level indicates it has bottomed out, particularly since XRP Ledger network activity surged at that price level.
