XRP Ledger Developer Launches Public Dashboard to Track Amendment Testing Coverage

XRPL developer Denis Angell this week launched a live dashboard that measures amendment readiness by tracking which features have been exercised during devnet testing before activation on the main network.

The tool, hosted at amendments-staging.xrpl.foundation, converts amendment testing from a process based on trust into a public scorecard showing exactly which transaction types, fields, result codes, and ledger entries have never been touched by a real transaction.

How the Dashboard Works

The dashboard reads each amendment's full specification directly from the node and monitors devnet activity to verify whether validated transactions have exercised each component. Green cells indicate tested functionality and link to the transaction that first exercised it, while red cells mark untested surface area.

As of this week, the dashboard is monitoring 16 amendments live on devnet, with 13 still showing untested coverage. Newer amendments display the widest gaps: Sponsor has 65 of 107 checks untested, XChainBridge is missing 30 of 40, and MPTokensV1 is short 27 of 102.

Recent Findings and Progress

This week's scan identified 59 findings across the amendment set, including two specification bugs, 23 documentation gaps, and 34 test gaps.

One amendment, XLS-75 permission delegation, achieved full test coverage this week after the team added logic mapping delegated transactions to specific permissions and exercised every remaining cell on devnet, bringing all 122 checks across its 12 granular permissions to complete coverage.

Angell has framed the effort as crowdsourced, encouraging XRPL builders to run the missing transactions themselves, since the dashboard detects new activity within seconds.

Context

The push for more rigorous pre-activation testing follows adoption challenges with recent upgrades. Ripple's v3.2.0 update, which renamed the core server software and reduced node memory usage by 30% to 40%, remained unadopted by more than half of XRPL nodes weeks after release despite 89% adoption among the network's trusted validator set.
