Non-empty wallets on the XRP Ledger have reached an all-time high of 8.24 million, according to data from Santiment Intelligence published on October 22, 2026. The milestone coincides with a spike in daily wallet creation, with 4,772 new addresses added in a single day—the fifth-largest daily surge since March.
XRP was trading near $1.36 when the report was published and has since declined to $1.29, down 2.83% over the past 24 hours and 1.18% over the past week. Despite the recent pullback, the asset maintains an $81.3 billion market capitalization with a circulating supply of 63 billion tokens and over $1.21 billion in daily trading volume.
Sustained Growth Despite Price Volatility
The steady climb in wallet count reflects continued adoption momentum. In September, the XRP Ledger recorded its largest single-day new-account creation with 11,432 new accounts on September 24, roughly 320% above the daily average. The October spike of 4,772 wallets, while smaller, signals ongoing participation from new entrants rather than simply existing holders reshuffling funds.
Holder concentration data from September 2026 showed large holders maintaining significant positions, yet the widening base of non-empty wallets points to broader retail participation. Institutional interest has also been a structural factor, with the Evernorth XRP treasury securing 94% shareholder approval for a 473 million XRP acquisition plan.
Key Price Levels and Adoption Signals
According to Santiment, two scenarios could define near-term price action. On the upside, a sustained move above $1.40 paired with daily wallet creation remaining near or above 4,000 could make a return toward $1.50 plausible. On the downside, losing $1.30 while new-wallet creation falls below roughly 3,000 would weaken the short-term adoption signal.
The bullish case faces headwinds from supply-side pressure. XRP exchange reserves recently hit 11.81 billion, near the 99th percentile of the past year, signaling elevated sell-side availability at current prices. Additionally, Santiment's bullish-to-bearish ratio for XRP hit 0.67 in early October, its weakest reading since August 17.
Broader Adoption Metrics
On-chain activity continues to expand, with XRPL transactions reaching 50 billion cumulative. U.S. spot XRP ETFs have attracted over $1.7 billion in cumulative inflows, with institutional custodians increasing involvement according to a joint Ripple-BCG report on financial institution custody.
Analysts note that wallet counts track addresses rather than unique individuals, as exchanges, custodians, and active traders control multiple wallets. The metric is most meaningful when combined with price action, exchange flows, and ETF demand rather than viewed in isolation.
