XRP Leverage Reset Follows $14.2M Liquidations as Network Assets Surge

XRP's market structure shifted following recent volatility that triggered liquidations across leveraged positions. Open Interest declined 14% from $558 million to $478 million, while the leverage ratio eased from 0.203 to 0.182, according to market data.

Two-way liquidations totaling $14.2 million occurred within a 48-hour period, affecting both long and short traders. Funding rates subsequently declined to -0.002, marking an end to a fourteen-consecutive-positive-session streak that had seen traders actively pursuing long positions.

Binance reserves for XRP remained relatively stable near 2.6176 billion tokens, while deposit addresses to the exchange declined 91%. This divergence suggests that leverage reduction occurred without a corresponding surge in selling pressure from holders moving coins to exchanges.

Network Growth Accelerates

On the XRP Ledger itself, recorded asset value climbed significantly from $99 million in Q1 2025 to $4.26 billion by Q2 2026, indicating expanded capital activity across the network.

Real-world assets on XRPL have primarily taken registry-style forms, pointing toward institutional representation and custody arrangements rather than freely circulating assets. In contrast, RLUSD stablecoin activity shows a different pattern, with transferred value surging 925% year-over-year alongside increases in holders and trust-line openings.

The concentration of stablecoin transfers suggests these instruments are supporting transactional activity on the network, even as overall account activity continues to decline. Growth in both real-world assets and stablecoin usage may indicate expanding institutional adoption and liquidity infrastructure on the ledger.
