XRP is consolidating within a descending channel after its August advance from roughly $1.00 to $1.55, with the cryptocurrency now trading around $1.40. The price structure shows a sequence of lower highs as volatility gradually contracts, leaving the next breakout as a critical signal for directional momentum.
Daily Chart Analysis
On the daily timeframe, XRP recently rebounded from the $1.32-$1.35 support area but faced rejection near $1.48 at the descending channel's upper boundary. The resistance trendline is currently approaching the $1.43-$1.45 region.
A confirmed breakout above this descending channel would signal a potential bullish structural shift. In such a scenario, XRP could initially challenge the previous $1.48-$1.55 highs before potentially targeting the $1.61-$1.70 resistance zone.
If the asset breaks down instead, the $1.33-$1.36 support area serves as the nearest significant level. A breakdown below this zone could expose the lower channel boundary, which is gradually converging toward the $1.22-$1.27 demand zone.
Four-Hour Timeframe
The 4-hour chart shows the corrective structure more distinctly. XRP recently bounced from the $1.34-$1.36 support zone and rallied to $1.48, but buyers were unable to break through descending resistance. The rejection has returned the price to approximately $1.40.
XRP is currently caught between $1.34-$1.36 support and descending resistance at $1.43-$1.45. A breakout above the latter would indicate short-term momentum shifting toward buyers, potentially opening the path toward $1.48 and then $1.53-$1.55.
Another rejection at resistance followed by a loss of the $1.34-$1.36 support would favor continuation of the correction, with the lower descending channel boundary becoming the next target. The $1.22-$1.27 support zone would provide a more substantial demand area underneath.
For now, XRP remains in a corrective phase rather than a confirmed bearish breakdown. The reaction at the channel boundaries will provide the clearest indication of the next directional move.
