XRP rose 6% to $1.38 over the past 24 hours, joining a broader cryptocurrency market recovery led by Bitcoin, which climbed above $80,000. The overall crypto sector market cap increased 4.79% to $2.75 trillion, supported by positive sentiment around regulatory developments.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission submitted proposed cryptocurrency market rules to the White House for preliminary regulatory review. The filing follows the failure of the CLARITY Act to advance in the Senate. The CFTC also issued a no-action position allowing eligible passive software providers to build derivatives trading tools without broker registration, subject to specific conditions.
On the technical front, XRP traded at $1.3824 on September 18 after recovering from the $1.30 region. The token broke above the $1.35 support level and moved toward the next resistance at $1.40. The Relative Strength Index reached 61.23, indicating strengthening momentum without entering overbought territory. The MACD line rose above its signal line, with extended green histogram bars during the recent bull run.
Trading volume jumped 7.17% to $4.96 billion, while open interest increased 8.68% to $2.99 billion, reflecting higher trading activity and increased derivative market participation. However, rising leveraged positions could increase volatility if momentum falters or liquidations occur.
