XRP, the cryptocurrency associated with Ripple’s cross-border payments network, dropped to $1.25 over the weekend—its lowest level since September 16—amid a broad decline in crypto markets. The token had reached $1.66 less than a month earlier before suffering another major leg down.
On-Chain Activity Spikes
According to data shared by analyst Ali Martinez, citing Santiment, transaction volume on the XRP Ledger exploded to nearly $50 billion, up from sub-$1 billion levels in the preceding days. Martinez interpreted the surge in on-chain activity around the $1.25 support level as a sign that “$1.25 could mark the bottom.” If that proves correct, he predicted XRP could resume its August/September rally and target $2.00.
Broader Market Shakeout
Vincent Van Code offered a more bullish take, describing the recent market moves as a wider crypto shakeout designed to remove weak hands. He pointed to a sequence of liquidations: “Longs destroyed, shorts opened, and now those shorts destroyed.” Van Code added that he expects “the next few weeks we are going to see ATHs smashed across the board with a long low gradient bull run ahead of us.”
Longer-Term Outlook
EGRAG CRYPTO, known for his bullish stance on XRP, outlined a scenario in which the token could reach a cycle top between $7 and $9. That projection comes after XRP set a 2025 all-time high of $3.65.
The past week’s decline coincided with rising inflation in the US, declines in other markets, and growing economic and macro uncertainty, factors that often amplify volatility in tokens like XRP.
