The ratio of XRP's circulating supply in profit has surged to 57.172%, reaching levels last seen in January 2026. This metric, which tracks the percentage of an asset's circulating supply currently trading above its last recorded transaction price, reflects renewed strength in the digital asset following price gains in recent months.
XRP's price recovery began in August after declining to $0.98 mid-month. The asset closed August around $1.379, representing a 30% monthly gain. September continued the uptrend with an additional 8% advance, though October introduced a pullback. Despite the recent pullback, the August and September gains have made a substantial portion of XRP's supply profitable.
According to on-chain data from Glassnode, the 57.172% reading indicates that approximately 39.12 billion XRP tokens of the 68.4 billion circulating supply are now in profit. This represents a significant improvement from August 16, when only 37.27% of supply was profitable, leaving roughly 43 billion tokens at a loss. Currently, about 29.2 billion XRP tokens remain unprofitable.
The latest reading reflects prices at which XRP last moved at $1.51 or lower. Investors acquired the profitable portion of supply at price levels below the current market rate.
Nine-Month High
The current 57% peak mirrors levels last reached in January 2026, when XRP traded near $2. In early January, the supply in profit reached 77.25% at prices around $2.40, but this declined sharply over subsequent weeks as prices fell.
Throughout the first quarter, the profitable supply metric deteriorated significantly, slipping below 50% by late January. The metric remained depressed for three months as XRP prices stayed below $1.50. A recovery above 50% occurred in May when XRP reached $1.47, but gains did not hold, leading to a decline to 37% in August before the recent recovery.
