XRP is trading near $1.34 as market attention focuses on both near-term price levels and longer-term infrastructure development on the XRP Ledger.
Analyst Ali Martinez identifies a support zone between $1.31 and $1.35, with $1.38 marking a key resistance level. A break above $1.38 could signal a broader breakout targeting $1.60, according to the technical setup.
Lending Infrastructure Still Awaits Approval
Two proposed amendments to the XRP Ledger—XLS-65 and XLS-66—remain pending validator approval. XLS-65 would define Single Asset Vaults that pool assets and issue ownership shares. XLS-66 would establish fixed-term loans with interest, repayment schedules, and fees at the protocol level.
Neither amendment has been activated on the XRP Ledger mainnet. Both require a validator supermajority for at least two consecutive weeks before becoming active.
RippleX Head of Product Jazzi Cooper characterized XRP collateral for institutional credit as a "killer use case," positioning the asset for roles beyond cross-border payments. However, the current lending design does not automate collateral or liquidations on-chain. Underwriting and risk management would be handled off-chain, with institutions able to structure separate collateral agreements.
Limited Evidence of Current Lending Adoption
Several entities have announced intentions to use XRPL lending features. Evernorth stated plans to use XLS-66 as a treasury tool, though its SEC filing notes that approval and operation are not guaranteed. Clearpool markets an XRPL lending product as "coming soon" and reports approximately $965 million in loans originated across other networks.
No funded lending vaults or completed loans currently exist under XLS-66 on mainnet. Published eligibility rules, collateral haircuts, custody terms, and default procedures from participating institutions have not been established.
RLUSD, a stablecoin on the XRP Ledger, has a market capitalization near $2.42 billion and could serve as a lending asset, but this represents potential rather than confirmed demand for XRP collateral.
Technical Levels Guide Short-Term Price Action
Beyond the $1.31-$1.35 support and $1.38 resistance identified by Martinez, analyst Crypto Patel points to $1.55 as a larger weekly resistance level. A weekly close above $1.55 could expose $2, followed by the prior high of $3.66. Failure to reclaim $1.55 could redirect focus to the $0.70-$0.95 demand area.
XRP price action remains dependent on holding support, breaking resistance, and attracting sustained spot demand. Validator approval and mainnet lending adoption data will be required to confirm whether institutional credit becomes a meaningful catalyst for the asset.
