XRP recently closed the week just below the 50-week exponential moving average (EMA) at approximately $1.51, following a period of trading within a predicted range of $1.50 to $1.60. According to analyst ChartNerd, the asset followed weekend price expectations, moving sideways amid falling trading volume and neutral funding rates.
Data from CoinGlass highlighted a liquidation heatmap showing roughly $607 million in liquidations around the $1.50 mark on Binance, pointing to a concentration of leveraged positions at that level. Additional heatmap data showed $2.7 billion in liquidation leverage clustered around $1.00 on a three-month chart, alongside notable liquidity around $1.80 and $2.00.
The broader cryptocurrency market pullback also impacted XRP. Bitcoin dropped 1.64% over a 24-hour period to $82,722 after previously reaching $85,126, applying downward pressure across the market. CoinMarketCap data showed XRP trading at $1.47, reflecting a 2.7% decline over 24 hours while remaining up 3.07% over the week.
Analyst commentary notes that XRP has now posted six consecutive weekly closes beneath the 50-week EMA, indicating that sellers continue to defend the level. Future price direction depends on whether buyers can reclaim the $1.50 mark and the 50-week EMA. Support sits near $1.31 at the 20-week EMA. While consistent closes above the 50-week EMA could potentially open a path toward $1.80 to $1.90, the asset remains compressed between significant liquidity zones.
