XRP whale withdrawals from Binance surged to their highest level in six months this week, with large holders pulling more than 231 million tokens off the exchange in a single day. The movement coincided with a sharp expansion in the asset's market valuation.
Significant Outflows and Derivatives Activity
The 231 million XRP withdrawal represented more than $335 million removed from Binance in a single day, according to data shared by crypto commentator Darkfost. This figure sharply contrasts with the 90-day daily average outflow, which sits near $40 million.
Separate data from trader Crypto Patel indicated that withdrawals multiplied 4.3 times over a 48-hour window, matching the 231 million XRP total. Simultaneously, XRP futures volume reached $11.37 billion, marking a six-month peak for derivatives activity. Moving large amounts of tokens off exchanges typically reduces available sell-side supply on those platforms.
Market Capitalization and Price Movement
Alongside the whale transactions, XRP's market capitalization grew by $44 billion over a three-day period. The token's price climbed by more than 70% during the same window. CoinGecko data placed XRP at $1.43, reflecting a weekly gain of 40.20% despite a minor 24-hour decline, with daily trading volume sitting at approximately $3.5 billion.
