The XRP Ledger’s stablecoin supply crossed the $1 billion mark in the third quarter of 2026, according to Blockworks Research. Total supply rose 25.2% to $1.03 billion and transfer volume increased 39.5% to $14.09 billion.
RLUSD Leads Growth
Ripple USD (RLUSD) was the primary contributor, with its supply expanding 49.7% to $1.01 billion. This gave RLUSD a 98.1% share of the ledger’s stablecoin liquidity, indicating that most dollar‑denominated tokens on the XRPL are issued by Ripple.
Distribution Channels
Ripple is extending RLUSD distribution through several announced channels. Robinhood plans to add RLUSD to its retail app, and Ripple and C2FO have announced an invoice‑financing service that will use RLUSD on the XRPL. The service has facilitated over $250 billion in working‑capital financing off‑chain, though on‑chain activity remains limited.
Impact on XRP Demand
While XRPL transactions require XRP for fees and account reserves, the rise in stablecoin supply does not directly translate into increased XRP holdings. Stablecoin users may hold minimal XRP balances sufficient for transaction costs, meaning the ledger’s stablecoin growth does not guarantee proportional XRP demand.
Future Developments
Blockworks noted that the native Lending Protocol on the XRPL entered its final validator vote. If approved, the protocol could enable credit markets using stablecoins and tokenized assets, though its effect on XRP demand remains uncertain.
Market Signals
Exchange‑traded products (ETPs) linked to XRP recorded net inflows of $355.3 million, up 39.6%, bringing assets under management to $3.32 billion at quarter‑end. However, the stablecoin report did not detail unique user counts or the proportion of transfers stemming from recurring commercial settlements.
