Yuga Labs has launched Mudwater, a physical and digital trading card collection on Solana for Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) holders. The collection features 120 artworks in various editions, including foil, serialized, and rare cracked-ice formats, with eight cards designated as serialized one-of-one pieces.
Eligibility and Pack Distribution
BAYC holders qualify for 10 packs per NFT, while MAYC holders receive two packs per NFT. Each pack contains 10 cards, with production limited to 10,000 boxes. Eligible holders can claim packs through airdropped Totems, which enable access to the collection.
The cards are printed by OCAP Games using orange core paper, providing collectors with physical items alongside blockchain-based digital assets. Totems, packs, and cards are available to trade on OpenSea.
APE Token Reward Mechanism
Mudwater allocates 2.5% of card trading volume toward purchasing APE tokens, which are distributed among collectors proportionally based on their holdings. A collector holding a larger share of the collection receives a proportionally larger allocation of purchased APE tokens. Actual distributions depend on the mechanism's terms and the volume generated through eligible trades.
The arrangement connects secondary-market trading activity to token rewards, differentiating Mudwater from conventional collectible markets where resale activity does not automatically provide token distributions to holders.
