Aave’s TVL Reaches $18.05 Billion Amid 25% Price Surge

Aave [AAVE] surged by nearly 25% over a 24-hour period following a strengthening of protocol deposits and derivatives positioning across the board. However, the rally revealed a split across different market segments, highlighting a mix of bullish trader sentiment and cautious short-term spot activity.

TVL Growth and Net User Incentives

Aave's Total Value Locked [TVL] rose to reach $18.05 billion. The uptick indicated that additional capital had entered the protocol during the token's rally, though consecutive days of growth could not immediately confirm whether the deposits represented lasting demand.

Simultaneously, net user incentives climbed to their highest level since December 2025, with Aave generating approximately $50,270 in incentives during the month of August. Combined with rising deposits, these incentives supported protocol activity during the 25% price gain.

Derivatives and Trading Sentiment

The derivatives market presented a mixed picture regarding trader agreement. Long/Short Ratios on Binance and OKX registered at 1.46 and 1.15 respectively, indicating a bullish stance among top traders on those platforms. Together, Binance and OKX control approximately $524.85 billion in assets, with Binance accounting for $361.95 billion.

Conversely, the Long/Short Ratio across the broader market fell below one and favored sellers, signaling potential selling pressure. At the same time, the Open Interest-Weighted Funding Rate maintained a positive reading of approximately 0.0220%.

Spot Flow Analysis

The 24-hour spot flow indicated that more AAVE was sold than bought, resulting in a $3.4 million net outflow. Analysts noted this activity could reflect profit-taking rather than sustained selling pressure, particularly as the three-day and five-day netflows remained negative, showing that broader buying had previously outweighed selling over those timeframes.
