Dogecoin faces a critical juncture as analysts watch for potential breakout signals, even as institutional interest in the cryptocurrency's spot exchange-traded funds cools.
Analyst Ali Martinez noted that Dogecoin continues consolidating within a descending triangle on the 4-hour chart. For a bullish breakout to confirm, the asset would need to decisively overcome $0.095 resistance and close above that level on the same timeframe. Should this occur, Martinez predicted a 14% surge to $0.106.
Recent Price Action
Dogecoin reached $0.104 during a market-wide rally on September 22-23 before declining sharply to $0.092 within hours. The meme coin subsequently struggled to break above the $0.10 resistance level, with the latest rejection occurring Friday amid a broader market downturn that saw Bitcoin fall over $3,500. Dogecoin dipped to $0.091 before recovering to $0.092-$0.093 over the weekend.
ETF Flows Show Mixed Signals
Spot Dogecoin ETFs recorded their strongest week in late September, with net inflows reaching nearly $2.90 million—a record for the asset. However, momentum did not hold. The following week saw inflows of $878,790 on Tuesday, followed by outflows of $551,430 on Wednesday and no reportable flows on October 1 and 2.
Despite the weak institutional participation, analysts note that Dogecoin has historically been driven primarily by retail investors rather than large institutional players.
