The primary cryptocurrency has climbed roughly 20% over the past month, trading between $78,000 and $80,000 over the last few days. While some market watchers point to historical technical patterns and institutional demand as signs of future gains, others warn of potential short-term declines.
Bullish Indicators and Institutional Inflows
Analyst Ali Martinez noted that Bitcoin recently reclaimed its Warm Supply Realized Price, a metric tracking the average cost basis over a period of one week to six months. Martinez pointed out that the previous four occurrences of this development were followed by significant rallies, including a nearly 160% increase in October 2023 and a 74% pump a year later.
Additionally, X user Crypto Rover highlighted the formation of a "golden cross" on Bitcoin's price chart, noting that a prior appearance of this pattern preceded a 500% surge after the end of a bear market.
Institutional interest has also remained strong, with spot exchange-traded funds tracking Bitcoin attracting nearly $1 billion last week. BlackRock’s IBIT leads the sector with cumulative net assets surpassing $64 billion, while Fidelity’s FBTC ranks second with approximately $10.3 billion.
Warnings of a Potential Short-Term Drop
Despite the positive signals, other analysts anticipate a possible pullback before any sustained upward trend. X user Crypto With Haris ₿ suggested a decline to $62,000 could occur prior to a major uptrend, while Crypto Lens argued that Bitcoin may be facing a final bull trap with a potential drop to $50,000.
Crypto Patel stated that a rejection at the $83,000 level would maintain a bearish market structure and could trigger a crash to $50,000. Conversely, Patel noted that a daily close above $83,000 followed by a successful retest could pave the way for a move toward the $100,000 psychological level.
