Anthropic Targets November IPO With $2 Trillion Valuation and $100 Billion Raise

Anthropic is moving forward with plans for a November initial public offering that could value the company at about $2 trillion and raise as much as $100 billion, according to recent reports. If the deal reaches these levels, it would rank among the largest public offerings in history.

The company is preparing to provide prospective investors with clarity on its financial position. Anthropic may publish disclosure documents in the coming weeks, with final timing dependent on market conditions and shifts in investor demand.

Revenue Growth and Capacity Expansion

Revenue growth is central to the IPO discussions. Anthropic is projected to reach more than $100 billion in annualized revenue by the end of 2026, up from $65 billion in July, as it expands sales of Claude and other AI services. The company generates most of its revenue from business customers using Claude and related products.

Anthropic is also increasing its computing capacity to meet rising demand for AI services. Investors anticipate the company will have approximately five gigawatts of compute by the end of 2026, with capacity expected to nearly double by the end of 2027.

Safety and Public Market Accountability

Chief executive Dario Amodei has requested stronger protection and more cautious speed for the development of advanced AI. As Anthropic moves toward the disclosure obligations of a public company, Amodei has brought up concerns about safety and governance in investor discussions.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire publicly backed the move to public markets, explaining that public markets require audited financial statements, regular disclosures, independent board governance, and increased accountability. Allaire noted that transparency frameworks used in public markets could be extended to frontier AI firms, and that disclosure requirements and government regulations serve different but complementary roles in expanding companies.
