Barclays has launched coverage of Bitdeer Technologies Group with an Overweight rating and a $15 price target. The evaluation marks the latest Wall Street endorsement of the Bitcoin miner's strategic shift toward artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.

At the time of the initiation, Bitdeer shares were trading at approximately $9.63. The stock has experienced a decline of nearly 40% since late June, a downward movement driven largely by equity issuances that diluted existing shareholders and a lack of near-term catalysts.

Focus on AI Infrastructure and Powered Land Assets

Barclays' investment thesis centers on Bitdeer's repositioning toward AI and HPC infrastructure, which is anchored by the company's approximately 3 gigawatts of powered land assets. On August 4, Bitdeer announced a 16-year, $4.7 billion colocation lease covering 121 megawatts of AI and HPC capacity at its facility in Tydal, Norway. Revenue from this agreement is anticipated to begin in early the first quarter of 2027.

For the second quarter of 2026, Bitdeer reported revenue of $228.8 million, representing a 47% increase year-over-year.

Broader Wall Street Sentiment and Operational Strategy

Barclays joins other financial institutions in holding a positive outlook on the company. Cantor Fitzgerald previously upgraded Bitdeer to Overweight with an $18 price target, while Benchmark maintained a Buy rating with a $22 target. Over the past 52 weeks, Bitdeer shares have traded between a low of $6.92 and a high of $27.80.

Analysts point to Bitdeer's vertical integration strategy—retaining control over operations rather than outsourcing—as a potential source of margin advantages as the demand for AI infrastructure grows. Additionally, the company's Nordic facility in Norway provides natural cooling benefits and access to renewable energy, appealing to hyperscale AI customers focused on sustainability and cost efficiency.

Despite the positive long-term outlook for its infrastructure pivot, risks remain. Potential future capital requirements for funding the infrastructure build-out could lead to further equity dilution and weigh on the share price.
