Binance-linked wallets recorded approximately $6.1 billion in outflows within 24 hours of withdrawals resuming, according to data tracked by DeFiLlama. The outflows represent roughly 3.6 % of the $171 billion in assets the exchange reported holding before the October 29 security breach.
The breach, which lasted about 45 hours, resulted in an estimated $6.3 billion being stolen. Binance began restoring withdrawals on November 1, initially supporting 15 networks and assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and major stablecoins.
During the first nine and a half hours of the phased restart, the exchange processed about $4.65 billion in withdrawals against $1.01 billion in deposits, yielding a net outflow of $3.64 billion.
Competing platforms reported inflows during the same period: OKX saw roughly $450 million in net inflows and Bybit about $134 million, according to exchange‑flow data. The source of those deposits was not confirmed as being directly from Binance customers.
Binance has said that withdrawal demand surged initially but is now stabilising, while deposits remain substantial. The company also stated it has replenished approximately 95 % of the assets affected by the hack, with the remaining portion involving less liquid tokens that require additional time to source.
Binance plans to provide further transparency through proof‑of‑reserves reporting as it works to restore user confidence and normal operations.
