Binance issued a warning on November 1 that no cash voucher promotion is currently running and urged users to be vigilant against phishing links. The exchange’s co‑founder Yi He explained that a proposed community rewards campaign is still pending regulatory approval and will only launch after the regulator’s review is completed.
Fake screenshots circulating on social media claimed users could receive a $150 payment for the recent withdrawal suspension. Interim marketing chief Eowyn Chen denied any compensation for the pause and directed users to rely on official Binance announcements.
Withdrawal services restored
After a precautionary suspension, Binance resumed withdrawals on Sunday, November 1, covering 15 blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, XRP Ledger, Base, Dogecoin and Optimism. Additional routes such as Arbitrum, Tron, Solana, Polygon and Avalanche C‑Chain were also reinstated as security checks were completed.
The exchange noted that heavier traffic could temporarily slow processing during the rollout and that deposit services remained open throughout.
Security investigation
The U.S. Secret Service continues to investigate the theft of more than $6 billion that prompted the withdrawal pause. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao thanked the Secret Service and other partners for quickly tracking and freezing a significant portion of the stolen assets.
Binance reported that it has covered approximately 95 % of the affected amount using company resources, with the remaining 5 % involving less liquid tokens that require additional sourcing.
Regulatory and user guidance
Yi He emphasized that the community rewards campaign will proceed only after regulatory approval, and she did not specify the reviewing authority. Users were advised to follow updates from Binance’s official channels and to avoid any unsolicited offers promising compensation.
