Bitcoin ETF Assets Approach $100 Billion as IBIT Captures Majority of Inflows

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $314.37 million in investor inflows, marking a seventh consecutive day of positive momentum and bringing combined net assets to $99.05 billion, just shy of the $100 billion milestone.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) dominated the day's activity, capturing more than 90% of the total inflows with $284.42 million. Four competing funds shared the remaining $29.95 million: Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $15.45 million, Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust brought in $6.98 million, Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $4.52 million, and Bitwise’s BITB took in $3 million. No spot Bitcoin funds experienced net outflows during the session, which recorded a total trading volume of $3.52 billion.

The recent seven-session streak has collected $2.57 billion. The recovery has reduced this year's net outflow deficit by more than half to $2.26 billion, bringing cumulative net inflows since launch to $54.36 billion.

Spot Ether ETFs also extended a seven-day winning streak on Tuesday, August 25, pulling in a combined $179.80 million. BlackRock’s ETHA led the category with $146.44 million in inflows, followed by Fidelity’s FETH at $25.75 million and BlackRock’s ETHB at $7.61 million. In total, Ether funds hold $14.88 billion in assets. Additional inflows were recorded across other crypto ETFs, including $32.25 million for Solana ETFs, $23.87 million across four XRP funds, and $7.51 million for HYPE ETFs.

The inflows occurred while cryptocurrency spot prices softened. Bitcoin briefly surpassed the $80,000 threshold before sliding to trade at $78,447.81 on Wednesday according to CoinGecko data. Ethereum changed hands at $2,462.96, down 0.4% at press time. Despite the daily dip, both assets maintained strong weekly gains, with Bitcoin up 14.6% and Ether up 17.9%. Meanwhile, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index cooled off from 74 to 65, remaining in "Greed" territory as ETF demand continued to build despite the price correction.
