Bitcoin ETFs Record Nearly $1 Billion Inflow as Average Holders Return to Profit

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $998.95 million in inflows on Monday, marking their biggest single day since October 2025, according to SoSoValue data. The surge represents a sharp reversal from the previous week, when the same funds posted their smallest weekly net inflow in their 141-week trading history with just $6.2 million.

BlackRock's IBIT led the day with $381.37 million in inflows, followed by Ark & 21Shares' ARKB at $289.12 million and Fidelity's FBTC at $238.84 million. Morgan Stanley's MSBT added $61.67 million and Bitwise's BITB contributed $21.56 million. Other funds recorded minimal activity, with VanEck's HODL and Valkyrie's BRRR posting no inflows for the day.

Bitcoin's rally moved above an estimated ETF cost basis of $81,722 per coin, putting the average holder of a U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF back in profit for the first time since January. Bitcoin was trading near $85,900 at the time of the report, approximately 5% above that threshold.

The return to profitability holds significance beyond the raw inflow figures. Investors holding underwater positions typically sell at the first opportunity to break even, creating supply pressure that has constrained demand throughout the year. With average buyers now in positive territory, the dynamics of future institutional demand may become clearer.

Trading volume for the ETFs reached approximately $4.5 billion on Monday, slightly below Friday's $4.6 billion. Bloomberg Intelligence noted that this represented elevated activity relative to stock and gold ETFs, with IBIT trading at or near the top 10 by volume.

Since their launch, the Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated net inflows of $56.16 billion and currently hold $110.14 billion in assets, representing 6.30% of Bitcoin's total market capitalization.
