Investors poured $1.297 billion into US cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) spanning Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana over a three-session period from August 17 through August 19. Bitcoin accounted for $1.004 billion, or 77.4%, of the total inflows.
Data from Farside Investors shows that Bitcoin net inflows reached $297.5 million on August 17, $189.3 million on August 18, and $517.2 million on August 19. Over the same sessions, Ethereum funds recorded $30.9 million, $71.4 million, and $186.8 million, totaling $289.1 million. Solana funds registered zero, $1.6 million, and $2.5 million across the sessions, resulting in a total of $4.1 million.
BlackRock Products Lead Inflows
BlackRock products led the market rebound, contributing $588.5 million to Bitcoin funds and $212.7 million to Ethereum funds.
The Bitcoin inflows were concentrated among three major products:
- BlackRock's IBIT: Contributed $588.5 million from August 17 to August 19.
- Fidelity's FBTC: Added $198.2 million.
- ARK 21Shares' ARKB: Supplied $111.6 million, which included $77.7 million on August 19 alone.
For Ethereum, BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) paced the sector with $212.7 million over the three sessions. In the Solana category, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) supplied $7.2 million across August 18 and 19, though this was partially offset by a $3.1 million outflow from the Grayscale Solana Trust ETF on August 19.
Pace Relative to Historical Averages
During the three-session span, Bitcoin funds averaged $334.7 million per day, roughly 4.1 times the historical daily average of $81.0 million reported by Farside. Ethereum funds averaged about $96.4 million per day, approximately 4.3 times their displayed historical average of $22.6 million. Meanwhile, Solana averaged about $1.4 million per day, sitting at 24% of its displayed $5.6 million average.
Analysts note important measurement limits regarding these comparisons. The underlying tables track differing numbers of products, do not provide aggregate category assets under management, and may omit certain funds in the broader US crypto ETP universe—such as Morgan Stanley's Ethereum and Solana trusts launched on July 28, which do not currently appear in the corresponding flow tables.
