Meanwhile, a Bermuda-based life insurer that operates entirely in Bitcoin, announced $37.5 million in new funding from existing investors. The round brings the company's total raised to more than $180 million.
Bain Capital Crypto led the funding round, alongside Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, and Morgan Creek Digital.
The funding follows increased international demand for Meanwhile's Bitcoin life insurance policies across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, according to the company's statement.
Product Expansion and Estate Planning
Meanwhile offers two product lines: BTC 10-Pay, designed for US taxpayers, and BTC Life 1-Pay, a single-premium whole life policy launched in early 2026 for high-net-worth clients outside the United States. Policies can be owned by individuals, trusts, or companies, making them applicable for succession and estate planning purposes.
"Wealthy families around the world already hold Bitcoin. What they haven't had is a regulated way to pass it on," said Zac Townsend, Meanwhile's co-founder and CEO. "Brokers came to us because their clients kept asking. This round lets us keep up with them."
Growth Trajectory
Meanwhile reported that net long-term underwriting income has already surpassed last year's total and is on track to more than double in 2026, though the company did not disclose specific figures.
