Bitcoin recovered ground today, trading near $78,000 after dropping to $76,200 yesterday—its lowest price in ten days. The cryptocurrency had been pressured following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and earlier resistance at higher levels.
BTC's recent price action reflects volatile trading conditions. The asset had climbed from under $65,000 to briefly exceed $81,000 last week before encountering selling pressure. A dip to $77,000 followed a hawkish speech at Jackson Hole, though the cryptocurrency recovered to $79,000 over the weekend before yesterday's decline.
Bitcoin's market capitalization stands at $1.560 trillion, with its dominance over altcoins at 59.6%.
Altcoins Post Mixed Gains
Most larger-cap altcoins advanced over the past day. Ethereum still struggles near $2,400, while XRP climbed above $1.35 and BNB approached $700. Solana returned to $100.

Some tokens declined, with Uniswap falling 6.5% and SKY dropping nearly 6%.
The total cryptocurrency market capitalization increased by $20 billion to $2.620 trillion.
