As of October 12, 2026, Bitcoin traded between $82,400 and $83,600, following a dip to approximately $80,337 on October 8. The movement left Bitcoin down about 3% for the week, testing the bottom edge of a $80,000 to $87,000 range that has contained the asset for much of the past month.
The pullback coincided with heavy selling in US spot Bitcoin ETFs. On October 7 and October 8, these funds experienced a net withdrawal of $484.9 million, marking the largest single-day outflow since June. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for approximately $207.7 million of those redemptions.
Macroeconomic pressures also contributed to the market shift. The US 10-year Treasury yield climbed to approximately 5.3%, while Brent crude prices surpassed $100 per barrel amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Despite these pressures, Bitcoin has remained above several key moving averages, including the 50-week average at approximately $77,200.
The recent market activity also coincided with the one-year anniversary of the October 2025 liquidation event, which saw more than $19 billion in positions wiped out. Market observers note that the current neutral score of 56 reflects a market waiting for direction as it processes external economic factors from the debt and energy markets.
