Bitget CEO Gracy Chen anticipates that Bitcoin will remain close to its current price levels through the end of the year, despite its recent surge. Speaking on Cointelegraph’s Trade Secrets podcast, Chen pointed to interest rates and broader macroeconomic conditions as primary drivers influencing the cryptocurrency's outlook.
Chen noted that increased integration with traditional finance has made Bitcoin more sensitive to macroeconomic trends. While stating that predicting an exact year-end finish above or below $70,000 is challenging, she suggested the price could settle roughly $10,000 to $20,000 above or below current levels, citing the potential for higher interest rates to place downward pressure on prices.
In addition to her market outlook, Chen expressed skepticism regarding the likelihood of the US government actively purchasing Bitcoin for a national reserve before the end of President Donald Trump’s term. She views such a move as unlikely within the next two years.
Although the Trump administration established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in March 2025 utilizing existing forfeited federal holdings—and directed officials to explore budget-neutral acquisition strategies—Chen emphasized that active federal purchases represent a major policy decision. She noted that such an initiative would require debate among lawmakers and political parties, even amidst a generally crypto-friendly administration.
