Nasdaq-listed treasury company Bitmine has continued to expand its Ethereum holdings, adding 53,501 ETH during the week leading up to August 30. This purchase brought the company's officially disclosed Ethereum treasury to 5.9 million tokens.
Of its total holdings, Bitmine has staked over 5.06 million ETH at an annualized seven-day yield of 2.67%. On-chain data from blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain indicates that wallets linked to Bitmine may have acquired an additional 51,000 ETH—valued at approximately $126 million—from FalconX and BitGo on September 1. This transfer was not formally confirmed in Bitmine's latest corporate disclosure at the time.
Using Bitmine's benchmark of 120.7 million ETH in circulation, a 5% position requires about 6.035 million tokens. Against its officially disclosed holdings, the company remains approximately 134,000 ETH short of that threshold. However, staking rewards provide a significant growth engine: under flat-supply and fixed-yield assumptions, a modeled year of staking from the company's current staked balance could generate about 135,000 ETH, which nearly matches the remaining gap. If the unconfirmed 51,000 ETH purchase is factored in, the shortfall would be reduced to about 83,000 tokens.
Separately, Bitmine chairman and Fundstrat managing partner Tom Lee discussed the broader regulatory outlook during the Global Money Talk. Lee stated that the CLARITY Act could open the floodgates for institutional crypto adoption, criticizing the current fragmented U.S. framework and advocating for a single federal agency to oversee the market. He also highlighted international developments, including Russia approving comprehensive digital asset legislation.
