Bitcoin software provider Breez has expanded its SDK with a new stablecoin feature that simplifies cross-network payments. Apps built on the Breez SDK can now accept stablecoin payments from over 30 networks, with the receiver choosing which network the sender will pay from.
The Breez SDK is a developer toolkit designed to let applications add bitcoin payment functionality without building underlying payment infrastructure. The toolkit handles wallet creation, sending and receiving, and Lightning Network payments, allowing developers to integrate bitcoin features with minimal code.
Under the new feature, the receiver specifies the sender's network and payment amount. The SDK generates a deposit address and displays the expected arrival amount, while the sender pays from their existing wallet. Flashnet processes the conversion in the background, and funds arrive in the receiver's non-custodial wallet as either bitcoin or dollars if they use Breez's stable balance feature.
Breez released a send feature for USDT and USDC in June, enabling a single Breez-powered balance to move stablecoins bidirectionally across most networks. The stablecoin receive capability represents another step in the company's broader effort to make bitcoin applications more accessible to mainstream users.
Recent additions to the Breez platform include passkey login, instant onboarding for Cash App users, and dollar-denominated balances. Breez's reference application, Glow, which launched in August, demonstrates the SDK's capabilities.
In July, Breez announced a partnership with Turnkey that enables developers to add non-custodial bitcoin to applications running wallets on their own servers, addressing custody concerns that have prevented major consumer platforms from integrating bitcoin payments.
