Cardano's Node 11.2 has been released as a pre-release, with the full mainnet release expected by 8th November, likely tagged 11.2.1. The update brings Dijkstra features, but ADA's price fell 6.7% in the same period.
Node 11.2 details
The GitHub notes state that the pre-release is not recommended for mainnet yet. A key change is that node configs now use a new "envelope" format, which nodes older than 11.2 cannot read, effectively requiring operators to upgrade. The node's API can now run over a network address instead of only locally and includes new tools for checking the mempool.
On the Dijkstra side, the CLI now handles sub-transactions, and Dijkstra transactions can be submitted through the API. Leios groundwork is included but switched off by default; the full implementation is planned for Node 11.3, which is already being built. Fair Min Fees will also have to wait.
ADA price action
ADA fell from about $0.199 on 5th November to a low near $0.178 overnight, a drop of 6.7%. The altcoin later recovered to $0.186 but remained 6.7% below its starting level at press time. The short-term RSI was at 48.3.
Leverage also took hits: Open Interest declined from about $197 million to $181 million during the drop. Funding remained positive at 0.0057%, suggesting longs have not given up. A large liquidation cluster is visible on the heatmap between $0.188 and $0.19, just above the press time trading price. Prices often drift toward such spots, and if Cardano pushes into that zone, shorts could get squeezed quickly.
Summary
- Cardano Node 11.2 is out as a pre-release; full mainnet release expected by the weekend.
- ADA fell by about 6.7%, with a liquidation cluster just above the price at press time.
