Chainlink Expands APAC Equities Streams to Six Exchanges Covering $40 Trillion in Asian Markets

Chainlink has expanded its APAC Equities Streams to cover five Asian markets—China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong—representing a combined equity market value of over $40 trillion. The update, announced on November 3, 2026, increases the number of supported exchanges from two to six.

What Chainlink added

The original APAC Equities Streams launched on June 22, 2026, with coverage limited to the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and the Korea Exchange (KRX). That initial version provided data on companies such as Samsung and SK Hynix. The expansion now includes the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), and Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX). Chainlink’s documentation lists all six exchanges as “Available.”

The feeds focus on major companies in technology and consumer goods, including TSMC, Tencent, and BYD. Each stream delivers low-latency mid prices, bid and ask data, and market status indicators that show conditions during each exchange’s trading hours. Data is quoted in local currencies rather than converted to a single base currency. The streams use Chainlink’s RWA Advanced (v11) schema.

A built-in limitation is that the streams operate only during standard exchange trading hours. When an exchange such as Shanghai or Tokyo closes, the corresponding feed stops updating. Integrations are already live, with Lighter, Jupiter Exchange, and Predict.fun using the streams for on-chain equity markets and related products.

How Chainlink got here

The APAC expansion follows a sequence of product launches. In January 2026, Chainlink introduced 24/5 US Equities Streams, offering around-the-clock weekday pricing for American stocks. Japan and South Korea were added in June 2026. Now, five months later, the remaining major exchanges in the region have joined. The broader goal is to bring traditional asset pricing onto blockchain networks to support financial products including derivatives and tokenized assets, known as real-world assets (RWAs).

What this means for on-chain markets

For builders, the expansion provides a common data source covering six exchanges, eliminating the need to stitch together feeds market by market. However, the trading-hours constraint requires attention: crypto markets operate continuously, but Asian stock exchanges do not, so on-chain products built on these feeds need sensible rules for when data stops updating overnight or on holidays. Market status indicators help in this regard—a derivatives platform can pause liquidations or adjust pricing when an exchange is closed, rather than acting on stale numbers.

The contrast with the US product is notable: American equities receive 24/5 coverage, while the APAC streams currently adhere to standard session hours.
