CLARITY Act Senate Vote Could Benefit Ethereum More Than Bitcoin, AI Models Suggest

The CLARITY Act, landmark legislation aimed at establishing a clear regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States, faces a Senate cloture vote scheduled for September 15. Advancing the debate will require at least 60 votes, and lawmakers recently revised the bill to attract additional Democratic support.

To assess how Bitcoin and Ethereum might respond to the bill's potential passage, three widely used AI chatbots were asked for their analysis.

ChatGPT and Perplexity's Analysis

OpenAI's ChatGPT predicted that Ethereum would rally harder in percentage terms than Bitcoin if the legislation advances. The platform noted that Bitcoin already has relatively clear commodity status and would not see a fundamental change to its regulatory position, though it could benefit from broader market sentiment improvement.

ChatGPT projected Bitcoin could jump 5–10% following a successful vote, while Ethereum could gain 10–20% immediately after the news. The analysis highlighted that the CLARITY Act would reduce uncertainty over whether Ethereum and other network tokens might be treated as securities.

Perplexity shared a similar outlook, projecting that Ethereum could move toward the high-$2,000s to low-$3,000s range. The platform suggested this could set the stage for a potential bull run toward a new all-time high above $5,000. For Bitcoin, Perplexity expects an initial surge beyond $83,000, though it warned that a bill failure could push the asset to a local bottom around $55,000.

Google Gemini's Perspective

Google's Gemini also selected Ethereum as the likely bigger beneficiary, arguing that both assets would gain from regulatory progress but the structural dynamics of the CLARITY Act favor Ethereum for sharper upside potential.

Gemini reasoned that altcoins would benefit more than Bitcoin overall, noting that their lower market capitalization relative to Bitcoin means the same institutional capital inflows would trigger larger percentage price movements.
