CME Group will launch regulated futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19, pending regulatory review. The announcement, made on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ET, prompted immediate price movement in both assets.
Bitcoin Cash climbed from $270 to $328 on Binance within 90 minutes of the announcement, continuing to surge to $340 in the hours that followed. Over a 24-hour period, BCH gained 28% to reach a multi-month peak. Uniswap's token posted a 15% increase, breaking above $10 for the first time since the announcement.
The new contracts will be available in both full-size and Micro versions. Bitcoin Cash will offer 250 BCH and 25 BCH contracts, while Uniswap will offer 10,000 UNI and 1,000 UNI contracts. Trading will occur on Globex, where CME began around-the-clock crypto trading in May.
These contracts expand CME's existing cryptocurrency derivatives lineup, which already includes Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, stated that the contracts provide clients exposure to key crypto networks within CME's 24/7 regulated marketplace as crypto markets mature.
CME reported first-half 2026 crypto futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts daily with $8.3 billion in notional value. Five altcoin futures added this year—Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui—have traded more than $1 billion in notional value year-to-date.
