Dogecoin price hovered above $0.0882 on Saturday after gaining 3.60% over the previous 24 hours, following Bitcoin's advance beyond $81,270. The meme coin is now approaching the $0.09 level, with traders monitoring for a confirmed breakout.
The broader cryptocurrency market expanded 4% to reach a total market capitalization of $2.78 trillion. Bitcoin's strength has lifted other major assets, with Ethereum surpassing $2,600 and XRP climbing 10%.
Derivatives Activity Signals Market Momentum
Crypto open interest surged to $146.6 billion, hitting its highest reading since January 15, 2026. Dogecoin derivatives trading saw particular growth, with trading volume increasing 18.50% to $1.54 billion and open interest rising 5.17% to $1.34 billion.
These increases indicate that new positions were added to the market during the period. Options volume increased significantly, though the dollar value of options trades remained modest at $47.71 million. Open interest in options also rose to approximately 47,850 contracts.
Technical Indicators and Price Levels
On the four-hour chart, Dogecoin's RSI rose to 67, nearing the overbought level of 70, indicating high demand. The MACD line stood at 0.00138, above its signal line of 0.00072, with a positive histogram of 0.00067 pointing to positive momentum.
If Dogecoin breaks through the $0.090 resistance level, the next target would be $0.095, a level that halted gains in late August. A sustained close above $0.095 could open the path to $0.10. Conversely, a rejection at $0.090 could trigger a pullback to the $0.085 support level, with further losses potentially reaching $0.080.
