Dogecoin recorded a daily surge of 13.04% as the broader memecoin sector advanced, accompanied by significantly increased trading activity. The price movement brought DOGE closer to a technical breakout attempt as it approached the $0.10 region.
Spot trading volume climbed 239.5% to around $3.48 billion in 24 hours, indicating substantially more capital exchanging hands during the rally. The derivatives market also expanded considerably, with derivatives volume surging 212.47% to $5.02 billion. Open interest increased 24.01% to $1.66 billion, suggesting traders were introducing new positions rather than merely closing existing exposure.
Technical Breakout
Dogecoin's price decisively broke above its weekly descending channel after rebounding from the $0.0690 support area. The memecoin reclaimed the $0.08214 price level before pushing above the $0.10 resistance, with the MACD indicator supporting the breakout through a bullish crossover.
The breakout shifted attention to the $0.11259 level, representing the immediate key horizontal resistance on the weekly chart. A strong hold above the broken channel could strengthen prospects of challenging that level and exposing the larger $0.15000 supply zone.
Potential Headwinds
However, selling pressure persisted across both spot and futures markets. Exchange inflows registered $5.64 million in net positive flows, expanding available supply on trading platforms. Futures Taker CVD remained seller-dominant, with aggressive futures sellers continuing to challenge buying activity surrounding the advance.
If spot inflows persist and buying activity weakens, selling pressure could limit price continuation. Alternatively, a loss of the breakout structure could trigger a retracement toward the $0.08214 level as key downside support.
