Dogecoin remained below the $0.10 price level as developers introduced a new application layer around the memecoin. DogeOS announced the opening of its public testnet on September 30, enabling teams to develop products using Dogecoin for payments, trading, lending, games, and other services.
The testnet operates as a separate application layer built around Dogecoin rather than an upgrade to the blockchain itself. Transactions on the test network use test DOGE for fees, obtained through a developer faucet without market value.
Limited Price Movement
At the time of reporting, DOGE traded near $0.095, up less than 1%. The coin remained above several technical levels that previously acted as resistance, with buyers showing some control after recovery from August lows.
The $0.10 level represents the primary resistance target. DOGE briefly moved above this level in September but failed to maintain the position. A break above $0.10 could open the door to recent highs near $0.105.
Support levels sit between $0.092 and $0.093. A decline below this range could lead to further downside toward $0.087.
Development Without Immediate Impact
While DogeOS provides Dogecoin with a fresh development narrative, traders appear to be waiting for stronger evidence of adoption before pushing prices higher. The testnet expands potential use cases for Dogecoin beyond its traditional payment function.
