Dogecoin's latest rally has lost momentum after briefly pushing the meme coin toward the $0.10 mark. At the time of writing, DOGE was trading near $0.085, bringing the $0.08 level into focus as a key area that could dictate whether the rally pauses or sees further declines.
The token experienced a rapid climb from around $0.07 before stalling below $0.09. Although buyers briefly pushed the price close to $0.10, the advance was short-lived. DOGE has since lost about 10% from its recent peak, accompanied by an additional 1.1% decline in its latest trend. However, the price remains above pre-rally levels.
The pullback follows a period of unusually heavy trading volume that fueled the rally but left the asset vulnerable to profit-taking by early buyers. While some market projections outline a worst-case scenario where a failed move could expose DOGE to a deeper decline toward $0.055, the chart does not currently show a decline of that magnitude taking shape.
Large-holder activity increased substantially during the rally, according to TradingView data. While this indicates higher whale participation, the data does not clarify whether these large holders were net buyers or sellers. Meanwhile, the balance between buying and selling rose during the advance before dropping off, indicating that demand softened as the price approached $0.10.
Overall market activity has also declined, which may help the market settle following the sharp rally, though it also indicates that buyers have relinquished the control they held previously.
The immediate test for Dogecoin remains around the $0.08 mark. Maintaining this level could allow buyers to attempt another move toward $0.09, whereas dropping below it would bring the previous trading range of around $0.07 back into view.
