Ethereum (ETH) is retesting a resistance level previously reached only twice, in 2021 and around 2025, according to trader analysis. The current price action has drawn attention from multiple analysts tracking potential next moves for the cryptocurrency.
Analyst Crypto Patel identified the resistance test as a significant technical setup, mapping a potential path with intermediate targets at $3,270 and $4,892, followed by $5,500, before a longer-term path toward $10,000 and $15,000 if the resistance breaks. Patel noted that ETH is sitting just above a rising trendline within what he described as a multi-year accumulation zone that has contained every major pullback in recent years.
At the time of reporting, ETH was trading near $2,500, roughly 44% below its August 2025 all-time high. Over one month the asset had gained 31%, though it remained down about 1% for the week. Trading volume jumped approximately 28% in 24 hours to near $16.3 billion.
Not all analysts are bullish on an immediate breakout. Analyst NoName suggested that ETH had completed a Wave 3 impulsive move and anticipated a Wave 4 correction phase. NoName flagged $2,324 as the first support level to watch, with potential bounces toward $2,784 to $2,966 if buyers defend the level, or a possible drop to $2,112 to $2,222 if support fails. A daily close under $2,050 would invalidate this structure, according to the analysis.
Other market observers have been monitoring the $2,500 to $2,550 area, with some expecting a move toward $3,000 following a strong weekly close above resistance, while others anticipate a pullback toward $2,000 first.
