Ethereum's Exchange Reserves Fall to 3-Month Low Amid Record Staking

Ethereum's Binance reserves dropped to 3.74 million ETH, their lowest in three months, while record staking participation of 43.1 million ETH further constrains the token's liquid supply. Exchange-held ETH across major platforms hit a multi-year low of 14.88 million.

Ethereum's Exchange Reserves Fall to 3-Month Low Amid Record Staking

Ethereum has consolidated near $2,470 following an August recovery, as declining exchange reserves reflect a tightening supply structure for the token.

According to CryptoQuant data, Binance's ETH reserves fell to approximately 3.74 million ETH, marking their lowest level in three months. The decline is part of a broader reduction in exchange-held Ethereum, with total reserves across major exchanges recently reaching a multi-year low of approximately 14.88 million ETH.

Supply Constraints From Staking and Exchange Exits

The lower reserves on exchanges limit the ETH immediately available for trading and reduce potential selling pressure. This supply shift coincides with record Ethereum staking participation, with roughly 43.1 million ETH staked—representing 35.9% of circulating supply. The rising staking further constrains the portion of ETH readily available for trading.

While falling reserves do not necessarily indicate stronger demand alone, the combination of reduced exchange supply and increased staking points toward an increasingly constrained liquid supply outlook.

Market Positioning and Technical Levels

Binance top traders maintained a long-side bias, with long accounts representing 59.05% versus 40.95% holding short positions, according to CoinGlass. The Long/Short Ratio of 1.44 shows stronger bullish positioning among top traders. Ethereum's Open Interest remained elevated at approximately $33.73 billion, suggesting sustained leveraged participation as ETH consolidates.

At the time of analysis, Ethereum traded around $2,473, holding above the $2,372 support level while facing resistance near $2,540. The RSI indicator retreated to approximately 60.5 after previously reaching overbought territory, suggesting moderated buying strength. The Parabolic SAR remained above the current price, maintaining short-term bearish pressure within the consolidation range.

A successful breakout above $2,540 could reopen the path for further upside movement, while holding above $2,372 support would preserve the broader price structure.
