Foxconn Projects Strong Q3 Results as AI Server Demand Reshapes Business

Foxconn announced on September 5 that it expects third-quarter performance to exceed market estimates, driven by sustained AI demand and seasonal strength in information and communication technology products.

August consolidated revenue reached T$921.8 billion, a 51.98% increase compared to August of the previous year, equivalent to approximately $29.15 billion at current exchange rates. Year-to-date sales climbed to T$6.51 trillion, up 39.73% from the same period last year. Second-quarter net profit rose 35% year-over-year, surpassing analyst projections.

The company's cloud and networking segment, which includes AI server manufacturing, now accounts for more than half of total revenue—a shift from a year ago when consumer electronics held that position. Foxconn serves as Nvidia's principal server manufacturing partner, positioning it centrally in data center buildouts supporting large language models and generative AI applications.

Management has characterized the AI server surge as structural rather than temporary. The company projects a 30% increase in capital expenditure for 2026 directed specifically at expanding AI server production capacity. Leadership cited a potential long-term market of approximately $1 trillion for the AI industry.

AI server manufacturing demands engineering complexity beyond commodity production, requiring precise thermal management, high-speed interconnects, and integration of specialized components from a limited supplier base.

The company flagged risks including fluctuating global political and economic conditions, US-China trade tensions, currency movements, and potential slowdowns in hyperscaler capital expenditure. Nvidia GPU availability, regulatory approvals for data center construction, and power grid constraints at potential sites represent additional variables outside Foxconn's direct control.
