Since implementing its deflationary mechanism, Gate has burned a cumulative total of 191,934,541 GT tokens, valued at over $1.504 billion based on quarterly average prices. This represents a reduction of approximately 63.98% from the initial 300 million token supply.
About GateToken
GT serves as the core platform token for Gate and the native asset of Gate Chain. The token functions as both a utility token and gas fee token on Gate Chain, which launched its mainnet in 2019.
Gate operates a global platform serving more than 61 million users. The platform supports trading of over 5,300 crypto assets alongside 12,800+ stocks and ETFs. Gate's ecosystem extends into Web3 applications including Gate Chain, Gate Layer, Gate Perp DEX, Gate Fun, and Gate Meme Go, as well as AI-related products such as Gate.AI and Gate for AI Agent.
Token Supply and Burn Mechanism
The ongoing token burn is designed to optimize GT's supply structure as part of Gate's long-term deflationary strategy. Gate has stated that it will continue implementing the burn mechanism while expanding the real-world utility of GT across on-chain trading, network interactions, and other use cases.
