HYPE's market is experiencing competing supply and demand dynamics as major whale purchases challenge substantial institutional token transfers to exchanges.
A new wallet acquired approximately 440,000 HYPE tokens worth $37.26 million from FalconX, generating considerable demand pressure. This accumulation comes as institutional players have been depositing large quantities to exchange venues.
Over a ten-day period, Multicoin Capital transferred 815,885 HYPE worth $59.8 million into Coinbase Prime, while Bitwise moved 145,170 HYPE worth $12.04 million to Hyperliquid, including a recent transfer of 82,580 HYPE valued at approximately $7.11 million. These institutional moves introduced significant potential supply to exchange platforms.
Despite these large institutional deposits, the fresh whale purchase absorbed much of the resulting selling pressure, shifting the balance toward accumulation.
Exchange Flows Ease Supply Concerns
HYPE's exchange activity patterns have supported the demand outlook. On August 27, positive net flows reached approximately $12 million as inflows significantly exceeded withdrawals. However, the most recent reading showed a spot net flow of -$1.05 million, indicating outflows surpassed inflows for the period. This reversal has reduced exchange supply pressure accompanying HYPE's recent price movement.
The shift coincided with the whale's $37.26 million accumulation, positioning broader exchange dynamics closer to the accumulation side despite sustained institutional deposits.
Technical Picture: Breakout Holding Above $75
HYPE has maintained its breakout above the $75 resistance level, moving through the previous $75-$79 supply zone toward $86.95, where sellers halted the advance. The token subsequently retraced to $83.17 while remaining above its reclaimed breakout zone, making the former supply area critical to the bullish structure.
At the time of writing, the Relative Strength Index was consolidating around 74.37, placing HYPE in overbought territory following rapid price expansion. The RSI average reading of 69.69 indicated stretched short-term conditions. Rather than invalidating the breakout, this cooling pressure could support consolidation above the reclaimed region, potentially allowing renewed buying pressure to return HYPE to the $86.95 resistance area.
Liquidation Levels Frame Near-Term Price Action
Binance's liquidation data shows significant downside liquidity concentrated between $80 and $82.50, with another cluster forming near $86 to $87 around the recent resistance band. This positioning places HYPE between two liquidation zones that could influence its next move.
A deeper pullback may target the $80-$82.50 cluster before retesting the reclaimed price level, while stronger buying pressure could bring the $86–$87 liquidity concentration into focus. Clearing the $86.95 resistance level would be particularly important for price expansion and could open the path to the $100 level.
