Monero [XMR] rose 7.68% over the past 24 hours, with daily trading volume increasing 26% on September 12, according to CoinMarketCap data.
Over a three-week period, Monero rallied 32.2% from its August 22 open. The privacy coin retreated from the $550 supply zone last week but recent gains have brought XMR bulls back to test that resistance level once more.
Bitcoin's performance during this period was less stable. Starting at $78,338 on August 22, BTC declined 1.42% to $77,225 at the time of analysis, spending most of the three-week stretch below the $80,000 resistance level while maintaining support above $77,000.
Weekly Technical Structure
On the weekly timeframe, Monero displays a bullish structure. The 2025 rally set a new high at $571, while the $261 low that initiated the move remained unbroken.
When XMR challenged July's $409 swing high, bulls cleared the level within two weeks, with the move extending close to $571 and demonstrating strong higher-timeframe demand.
Daily Price Action
The daily timeframe showed a bearish momentum divergence between price and the RSI indicator, which led to three consecutive down days and a retest of the $480-$500 local demand zone.
At the time of writing, the daily Chaikin Money Flow stood at +0.05, the Stochastic RSI was recovering from oversold conditions, and the RSI read 66, signaling bullish strength. These indicators suggested the current uptrend was likely to persist.
Key Levels to Watch
The $571 resistance level represents a critical barrier. If overcome, a consolidation phase followed by renewed bullish momentum could develop.
Conversely, a drop below $480 would indicate short-term bearish control and potentially threaten a deeper drawdown.
