Monochrome Exchange, a multi-asset trading platform, has announced an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) for its native utility token, MCR. The offering runs from September 21 to September 28, 2026, exclusively on the Monochrome Launchpad at a price of $0.88 per token.
The public sale will distribute 10,500,000 MCR tokens, representing 5% of the total supply. Participants can commit USDT with no minimum requirement and a maximum of $100,000 per account. Following a one-month cliff from the Token Generation Event, tokens will vest linearly over three months and be credited directly to user accounts.
Platform Capabilities
Monochrome Exchange currently operates with over 260 active markets spanning multiple asset classes accessible from a single account:
- Crypto spot and perpetual markets
- Nearly 150 equity markets, including tokenized US and Hong Kong stocks
- Over 30 ETF and index options
- Commodity markets including metals and energy
- Tokenized exposure to private companies
Token Utility and Economics
MCR serves as the exchange's native utility token with multiple functions. Holders receive trading fee discounts ranging from 10% to 50% based on holdings, access to Launchpad offerings and upcoming Digital IPOs, staking opportunities, and governance participation.
The token has a maximum supply of 210,000,000 MCR. The platform incorporates a deflationary mechanism whereby 20% of net platform profit is allocated quarterly to buy back and burn MCR tokens, with an additional 25% of Launchpad and Digital IPO fee revenue directed to buybacks.
Leadership and Background
Monochrome Exchange was founded by Jeff Yew, former Chief Executive Officer of Binance Australia. Yew subsequently founded Monochrome Asset Management, the investment manager behind the first direct-holdings spot Bitcoin ETF admitted to trading on Cboe under an ASIC-issued Australian Financial Services Licence. Monochrome Exchange operates as a separate entity from Monochrome Asset Management.
Future Development
The exchange is developing a Digital IPO framework to streamline the listing and settlement process on-chain. MCR will be required to participate in these offerings, with the platform scheduling its first Digital IPO for Q1 2027.
