Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is in talks with chipmaker Nvidia regarding a potential $10 billion investment, according to a Reuters report citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.
According to the sources, Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion through the offering, a move that could potentially value the AI company at approximately $2 trillion. The discussions remain ongoing and details could change as the confidential negotiations proceed.
An investment from Nvidia would serve as an early strategic backing for the public offering while further strengthening ties between the hardware manufacturer and a key customer.
Representatives for Anthropic declined to comment on the report, while Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
