Ondo Finance has rolled out three new on-chain portfolio products built on investment strategies developed by BlackRock, advancing the integration of traditional portfolio management into blockchain infrastructure.
The new offerings are part of Ondo's Intelligent Portfolios suite. Each product is structured as a single on-chain token, enabling investors to gain exposure to a basket of assets without purchasing and managing individual positions separately.
The Three Products
The three portfolios are Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock, Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock, and Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock. Each addresses different investment objectives:
- High Income follows a global income strategy
- Diversified Growth uses a diversified allocation approach
- High Growth targets higher-growth allocations
How They Work
The portfolios maintain set asset allocations and target weights at launch, then undergo rebalancing on a fixed schedule handled programmatically. Underlying positions are built using Ondo Stocks, the company's platform for tokenized equities and exchange-traded funds backed by real securities sourced through traditional market liquidity.
Portfolio allocation, rebalancing, and fee rules are encoded into smart contracts, eliminating the need for manual portfolio adjustments. The token-based structure allows them to be transferred and used across supported DeFi applications, with products available around the clock subject to geographic and regulatory restrictions.
Leadership Transition
Ondo experienced significant leadership changes this year following the unexpected death of founder and CEO Nathan Allman at age 32. The company did not disclose the cause of death. Allman founded Ondo in 2021 after working on digital asset initiatives at Goldman Sachs and oversaw the launch of products including USDY, OUSG, and tokenized equities. Following his death, longtime President Ian De Bode was appointed CEO after more than two years overseeing strategy, products, and daily operations.
